Balloon Talk LIVE is a video edutainment program broadcast to various live streaming platforms, most often to its dedicated Facebook page, and affiliated Facebook groups.
Ballooning enthusiasts are encouraged to join the rest of us on Facebook in the Balloon Talk Facebook Group, managed by Barb Tomlin, a Facebook Global Power Admin, aka BarbTUSA.
Here are the rules for participating in our Balloon Talk Facebook Group:
Rule 1 – Be Kind, Courteous, and Compassionate
Ballooning is family-oriented. Likewise with this affiliated community. Treating everyone with respect is a must. Strive to be kind and considerate in all communications and actions.
Rule 2 – No Bullying, Hate Speech or Swearing
Bullying, hate speech, and swear words are not allowed. If you are compelled to use a swear word for clarity, use an asterisk (*) to censor the word. If you find the content you consider in violation of these terms, tag a group admin to review.
Rule 3 – Ask Before Posting Commercial Endeavors – Privileges Are Limited
Our goal in managing this group is to stimulate industry growth by inspiring the development of everlasting relationships. Give more than you take to this group. Promoting commercial endeavors *without prior Admin approval* is not allowed. Contact Admin for further commercial guidelines.
Rule 4 – Be Clear and Relevant
Our conversations cover a wide range of topics. Any discussions meandering from the topic are subject to post-closure or comment removal by post author or admin. Content deemed political or religious in nature will be removed at Admin discretion.
Rule 5 – Respect Everyone’s Privacy
Respecting others’ rights to privacy is a must. Do not post screenshots displaying personal information of others or screenshots of content that violates Facebook’s community standards. Don’t post screenshots of conversations occurring here outside of the group.
Rule 6 – Contribute Educational, Engaging Content
CLICKBAIT AND LINK DROPPING ARE NOT ALLOWED. Contribute informative, engaging content. Curated educational, newsworthy link sharing is encouraged and recognized through Group Link Curator Badge automatically generated based on post reactions and comments. Post authors must include a minimum 10-word introduction with any links shared. That introduction must be in context with the post. If the link shared is an event, the event name, duration, and destination should be shared.
Rule 7 – Help Our Community and Industry Grow By Being Active and Promoting Membership
Lurking okay but without registering engagement through reactions, risk expulsion from the group. Member de-activated accounts temporarily are welcome to re-apply for membership. Do not add group members without their *Prior approval*. Pending members are required to answer 3 questions.
Rule 8 – Event Promotion and Event Calendar Usage
Event Producers and Promoters: Add event information post to the appropriate month already set in our Group Event Calendar. Posting elsewhere in group must be cleared by ADMIN.
Rule 9 – Balloon Club Posts Permission is Limited
While balloon club memberships are encouraged, posts must follow Rule 4. Contact Admin for further guidelines, particularly for board elections.
Rule 10 – Group International in Scope, USA Based. Please Post in English.
The majority of the member base is located west of Mississippi in the USA and supports the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Please make sure text on images and in posts are in English or easily translated.
